Breath And Air by Heather Nova
Heather Nova
„Breath And Air“
Pop. Singer/Songwriter. CD 2025.
V2/Bertus kindly made this CD available to me.
TheProgThief is now making shallow pop? Heather Nova makes pop, but it is not shallow. Her lyrics are often poetic, autobiographical, melancholic or hopeful. Nova, now 60 years old, still has her soft and expressive voice. This album is pop mixed with a singer/songwriter touch. It will be released on February 21, 2025.
I admit, pop is not my thing. Heather Nova was different at the beginning of her career, more of a singer/songwriter and I especially liked listening to her live. So this is actually my first studio CD. I had a hard time with it at first, but then I found Breath and Air quite relaxing and that is down to her voice and poetic lyrics. Anyone who likes this kind of pop will get an impeccable and technically clean album. "Breath and Air" is a typically pleasant Nova song. "Butterflies And Moth" and "Ghost in my Room" flow along beautifully. And that is exactly what this album lives from. Not just for Heather Nova fans.
