„Euphoric Recall“
Dark Wave. Dream Pop. CD Digipack 2021

Once again I came across music by chance and immediately got the last two CDs. Here is the debut album "Euphoric Recall" from 2021. Jancy Buffington hired Andrea Volpato as co-producer and session musician for her project MØAA. All the music was written and arranged by Jancy. The music is designed around Jancy's warm, dreamy voice. The music is a mixture of shoegaze, dark/goth wave, dream pop and postpunk. "Euphoric Recall" sounds darker than her second album Jaywalker.

Jancy Buffington's debut "Euphoric Recall" is a dark album of post-punk, dream pop, dark/goth wave, and shoegaze. Her singing often comes across as dreamy and breathy, with lots of reverb so that it blends in with the droning guitar chords. Dark bass rumbles in the drum foundation, guitar drones echo across the board, and every now and then individual guitar notes stand out. The whole thing has a psychedelic, hypnotic effect on me. While the beginning isn't dark enough for me, the real action begins with song four, "O2." It goes on through "Lam" to the strong closer "Diffuse." My favorite songs are numbers 4 - 10, although the first three songs aren't bad.

Conclusion? If you like this kind of music, you can grab it. And then sink into the dreamy atmosphere.
