About me. And why it is progressive.

Progressive Rock

I consciously discovered progressive music in 1985, sparked by the band Marillion. Misplaced Childhood and the songs "Kayleigh" and "Lavender" are played over and over again. My musical journey continued with Pink Floyd and old Genesis LPs. The future led me to Arena, Eloy, The Mission, Dream Theater, The Gathering, The Pineapple Thief, Phideaux, and of course, Porcupine Tree.

In 2023, I went back to vinyl. And at the beginning of 2024, to CDs as well. My taste in music is still prog, but it has broadened. Gothic, dark rock, ambient, industrial, concept albums, prog metal, and anything that uses prog elements. I also like blues and blues-rock. I own all the vinyl records and CDs I present here. A prerequisite for a review is that I listen to the music myself, because I'm not a collector. I'm simply sharing my opinion and want to encourage others to discover prog music. And, of course, to listen to vinyl and CDs again through a two-channel stereo system.

You never walk or roll Alone!

Progressive Life

I was diagnosed with progressive muscular dystrophy a long time ago. I was seven years old then. Now I'm 57 and still here. I don't want to make my illness the focus; that's not what this website is about. Nevertheless, I want to encourage everyone affected. There's always something you can do. Even without much mobility, there's always something to do, thanks to modern technology. But first and foremost, here's a place to start.

Assitive Technology

I use a mouth joystick for working, surfing and gaming. It has a mouthpiece that is movable and a sip/puff control. Even the most complex program or games can be individually programmed and adapted to your own abilities. All images, this website and texts have been edited in this way.

I also use the Flipmouse, a simple but competent sip/puff mouse.
