Storm by Theatre Of Tragedy
„Storm“
"Storm" was received as a successful "comeback." However, those expecting a bold return to the genre weren't satisfied. Technically and vocally, however, there's nothing to complain about.
I've found the reception of "Storm" to be mixed. It's between "great comeback" and "too commercial and not bold enough." "Storm" actually sounds more modern, more pleasing, and also more generic. But commercial music isn't inherently worse when it's well-made, as here. And even if "Storm" isn't my favorite, I enjoy listening to it as a contrast to "strenuous" music. So, is it actually a good album? Yes, because I like the sing-song between Istvan and Nell. It creates its own atmosphere, and I credit "Storm" for that. Check out "Silence," "Begin & End," and "Exile."
Personally, I like every style of music ToT plays, although I didn't like Liv's departure. But that's a matter of taste. I wish ToT had continued. After "Storm," they released the better album "Forever Is The World," after which they called it quits in 2009.
