Highway to Hell by AC/DC
Yes, I admit it. I like the old Australian boogie/blues rock. Of course with Bon Scott, who died far too early in 1980. I won't write a real review, as there is a flood of this album on the internet. I'm referring here to the gold remaster for the band's 50th anniversary, which was released in 2024.
Remaster, 180 grams, reissue. At a fraction of the price of an original from 1979. If you like AC/DC and don't own vinyl yet, you've come to the right place. Of course, they want to make money here but the return is good. The album that sealed the band's breakthrough in the USA is a clean copy. And it sounds damn good! Collectors will snap it up anyway. There's also a poster and the inside cover is printed on both sides. However...
...I don't need any advertising copy about the greatness of AC/DC. The nutritional value is simply too low for me.
My highlight is “Night Prowler”, dark and very bluesy. With a lot of Angus Young, great sound! So should I buy it? Since I don't have an AC/DC album on vinyl, a clear yes. Collectors and hardcore fans buy it anyway. In terms of qualit, it gets a go.
