"You must be a big AC/DC fan? Everything's already been said about that!" Right, so here's the short version. The Australians' fourth album from 1978. This is the golden edition celebrating the band's 50th anniversary.

Bon, Angus, Malcolm, Cliff, and Phil. Still unconventional in their appearance. Musically more polished. Technically a step forward.

Give it a listen? "Downpayment Blues", especially for its ironic lyrics. The song combines driving, cool blues-rock with a sobering perspective on money, debt, and the dream of a better life. Anyone who reduces Bon Scott to just a "mediocre", "drinking" singer and AC/DC to sexist songs (and many tracks are indeed sexist) will find a thoughtful song here. Vocals and music are a perfect match. Bon's cheeky way of singing here? Unique. For me personally? The best song AC/DC has ever written. "Riff Raff" and "Kicked In The Teeth" are my other recommendations. What? No more analysis? This is earthy, honest, cheeky blues-rock with a healthy dose of hard rock.

Conclusion: "Who needs ANOTHER remaster?" Me, because my originals disappeared long ago. Or collectors. An LP that I listen to all the way through and that's technically well-pressed. With good sound. Which isn't always the case with dyed vinyl.
